Best Scorer in 1 game: Oleg Salenko (Russia) with 5 Goals. Most Appearances: Lothar Matthaeus (Germany) with 25 appearances. Highest Attendance in a Match: 199.854 (Uruguay vs. Brazil - Brazil 1950 - Final Round) Other World Cup Statistics: - Two players share the record for playing in the most World Cups: Antonio Carbajal (Mexico) and Lothar Matthäus (Germany) played in five tournaments. - Pelé (Brazil) is the only player to have won three World Cup winners' medals. - Just Fontaine (France) holds the record for the most goals scored in a single World Cup. All his 13 goals were scored in the Sweden 1958 tournament. - Mário Zagallo (Brazil) and Franz Beckenbauer (West Germany) are the only people to date to win the World Cup as both player and head coach.
